Is Deodorant Aging You Prematurely?
The answer is YES! Your deodorant can age you faster because toxins cause cellular inflammation every time and cellular inflammation causes dysfunction every time. It’s just a matter of time and it’s a question of which organs will fail first. At the bottom of this email is an image with the most common toxins found in deodorants.
Inflammation in your body is like oxidation on a car. On the car the oxidation would look like rust. In your body that oxidation IS Cellular Inflammation.
So let’s look at deodorants. I’ve got a couple of examples here that I want to show you, so click on the video above to take a look. The basic principle is the ingredients in the deodorant must look like words that you can pronounce and things that you can recognize. If it’s a really long word and you don’t know what it is and you can’t pronounce it, it’s a chemical.
They change the chemicals constantly, so you can’t come up with a list
of every chemical to avoid. So what you can focus on is the principles…
A short list of ingredients and words you can pronounce. Here’s one that I’ve tried recently. It’s called Simply Fair.
The ingredients are:
- Coconut oil – you know what that is 🙂
- Olive oil
- Baking soda
- Shea butter
- Vitamin E
All those words are things that you can identify. And notice it is unscented. I prefer to buy unscented because I can’t really be sure about the quality of essential oils in products like this.
You can get Simply Fair at Thrive Market online. You’ll save a lot of money shopping organic on Thrive.
You can also make your own deodorant very easily. There are lots of recipes online with similar ingredients to these.
Another one that I really like is Silver Shield. I got this one at Amazon. Our local health food store also has it. Yours might, too.
The ingredients are:
- Essential oils
- Guar gum, which is a thickener. Sometimes it’s OK, depending on the source.
- Grapefruit seed extract
- Sodium again
- Xanthan gum, which is another thickener
- Rosehip oil
- Sunflower oil
- Nano silver
The silver kills the bacteria that cause the odor. Both of these are deodorants. You should only use a deodorant, never an antiperspirant, because your body is supposed to perspire.
Another consideration with deodorant and antiperspirants are that you use them right by the lymph nodes by the breast. That lymph needs to be able to flow freely and not be clogged up with toxins.
Another option is simply to skip deodorant. You might have a detox period where you smell worse, but after that, you might not need deodorant.
